1997 Black Gelding
Another gift from Dave to DeeDee, Stetson is the first foal of Seimons Rocki, our original stallion, and has been the mainstay of the herd for years, still going strong at 23. Currently he is enjoying semi-retirement from heavy work, but is still gets pulled in to work cows and pony youngsters from time to time.
2002 Roan Mare
Named by Naccona when she was a little bitty girl, Big O, as she has come to be known as, moved over here with us as part of the old herd. She's big girl that has helped us pack out game, move cows, and serve as a saddle horse.
2004 Bay Tobiano Gelding
Sunrise is out of Caseys Spider, an old mare that we moved over with who was DeeDee's horse Squirt's dam. Spidey and Squirt have since passed on, but Sunrise is here as one of Skyler's main mounts and eye catcher of the herd.
2010 Bay Gelding
Snips is the first horse Naccona trained and has been a wonderful boy to have around. She's shown him in everything under the sun, with both her and other people using him, and has helped teach many people to ride.
2019 Buckskin Tobiano Mare
Another little paint mare that belongs to Dillon. She was a birthday gift from Naccona, Skyler, DeeDee, and the Harris family for Dillon. One of the best remembered horse buying trips we have had, we traded a goat, (from the Harris family) and $100 for her and brought her home. We managed to surprise Dillon with much planning on all parts. She is currently in training, all of it beingng done by Dillon himself. He is very proud of her and looks forward to using her in years to come.
2018 Sorrel Gelding
Originally purchased as our second stud prospect, Easy, is also from Open Box Rafter Ranch! With Colonel Freckles and Easy Jet as his maternal great grand-sires and Dr Nick Bar, sire of Sugar Moon Express (Martha) and Flos Heiress (Babyflo) both World Champion Barrel Horses, as his Paternal Grandsire, Easy has some fantastic lines and has proven this with his trainability.
2017 Palomino Mare
Sundance was Naccona's AQHA Young Horse Development Program filly. Donated by Open Box Rafter Ranch in South Dakota, she has shown what 50 years of breeding can do! Well on her way to becoming an all around saddle and kids horse, Sundance is currently in training. She has been shown on the open circuit in everything from Ranch Horse to Speed Events, and English. She has been over all point earner in Showmanship, Reining, Western Riding, Ranch Trail, and Walk Trot Versatility in 2019.
2014 Blue Roan/Rabicano Mare
Shilo is off of Tom Shilo's place in North Dakota. A gift from David to DeeDee (Mom and Dad), she has proven to be a phenomenal mare in all aspects of the ranch and at the stockyards. She is one the best cow horses DeeDee has every trained and continues to amaze every time she is ridden. DeeDee also has shown her and placed as Grand Champion Halter Mare on the Eastern Montana Horse Show Circuit.
2013 Bay Gelding
Also from Tom Shilo's place, Tommy was bought from a friend and is half sibling to Shilo. Tommy is a hard working, honest gelding that will work all day long. Skyler has shown him in Ranch Versatility and Speed Events on Eastern Montana Horse Show Circuit. She placed 3rd in Reining and 4th in Ranch halter in their first show.
2009 Gray Mare
A ranch horse and tough little mare, Naccona uses Monte at the stockyards and here on the ranch. Monte will also eventually become a broodmare, hopefully giving us some nice foals. Originally from the Stearns Ranch in North Dakota, Monte comes to us with some amazing lines including Watch Joe Jack, Harlan, and Alamitos Bar.
Another Open Box Rafter Ranch horse! Wily will eventually go on DeeDee's saddle string as a gelding. He was originally going to be registered, but after a DNA test, Hunt's discovered that they did not know who his dam's sire was after all. However, his sire is none other than Mi Cisco Frost, a 7/8 sibling to our own Cisco Mr Trouble, who's pedigree includes Sun Frost, Frenchman's Guy, Azure Te, and numerous old foundation horses. His dam's bottom lines include Wilywood, an own son of Orphan Drift, as well as Poco Pine.
2017 Dun Mare
Hickory is a new addition to the saddle string and hopefully the broodmare band. She is a 2017 dun mare, originally from Nagle Quarter Horses in North Dakota. Her pedigree includes the great High Brow Hickory and Ciderwood, 3/4 brother to Wilywood. We are super excited to add such a handy little horse to our string.
One of our all time favorites and by our Rocki stud, we lost Resistol in 2019. He was full siblings to Stetson, and half siblings to Ang and Buttons. For years he held the title of Best Cow Horse. .
Buttons was very special to us for many reasons. She was one we bred for, raised for almost her whole life, and trained as well. She quickly became Dillon's horse, living out her life as the most loved little paint mare in the world. We also lost her in 2019.
